Happy Juneteenth! Don’t forget to head to your National Parks where it’s not just the slaves that are free. Admission fees are being waved at 36 parks in celebration of America’s newest federal holiday.
Yes, it’s a great thing that slavery was ended here in the United States. It’s no small thing either; a significant amount of blood was spilled in pursuit of this moral cause, and it is something worth remembering.
But, the history of Juneteenth has less to do with Abe Lincoln, and more to do with George Floyd, who himself was just a totem for people who focus all of their existential energy on finding meaning in a struggle against the people they can pretend are responsible for their personal failings.
And unlike “Pride Month” it can’t be ignored into oblivion since banks and markets are closed, due at least in part to Republicans in Congress who helped vote it into being as well as the awkward man who stood in for Otto Penn long enough for the bill establishing Juneteenth as a federal holiday to be signed into law.
There is still plenty to celebrate though, in advance of the upcoming real celebration of our nation’s freedom.
Amid left-wing histrionics over deportation, including more rioting, Americans who love America are winning.
Even the rioting, which Democrats still seem to think is what the kids like and will win people over to their cause, rather than boost the chances of a Republican, or at the very least whatever passes for a moderate or independent in California, to pick up a seat in the next election.
They have led to arrests of not only scores of rioters, people caught supplying the rioters with gear designed to counteract law enforcement,

and even some of the professional activists that pass as elected Democrats, and who seem to think that their elected status allows them to do what they accused Trump of so frequently, and openly flaunt the law to their own gain.
(New York City Comptroller and mayoral candidate Brad Lander arrested by federal agents at immigration court. According to Fox 5, Lander was trying to escort a man out of court to avoid ICE detention.)
Meanwhile the subjects of their “Fight for Justice” are choosing to leave of their own accord.
A new report from the Center for Immigration Studies estimates that more than 700,000 illegal immigrants have self-deported as a result of the Trump administration's immigration policies.
It says this is leading to a boost in wages for U.S. farm workers.
Polling from the League of American Workers and TechnoMetrica Institute of Policy and Politics indicates that 60% of voters, including the majority of Hispanics, support President Trump's deportation policy.
And it’s not only agricultural jobs. America is winning from farm to tablet. Texas Instruments announces its largest U.S. semiconductor investment ever, over $60 billion for seven new fabrication plants, creating more than 60,000 new jobs.
U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick praised the move Wednesday, saying it supports President Trump's goal to boost American chip production.
Texas Instruments is already building in Sherman, Texas, with two fabs underway and plans for two more.
The investment is backed by partnerships with tech giants like Apple, Ford, Medtronic, Nvidia, and SpaceX, who rely on semiconductors.
Texas Instruments says the new fabs will produce hundreds of millions of U.S.-made chips daily, fueling the next wave of American tech advances.
